At the Bottom

The short film ´At the Bottom´ is an animation about the relationship between humans and nature. The story follows Billy and Alberto, two government workers who have to descend a cliff where they dump their toxic waste, but the environment has evolved to protect itself.
The story and its setting were inspired by the Camorra Mafia’s dumping of toxic waste in Naples, Italy.
I am collaborating with Bas Lippens, Floriske Meinderstma, Daud Thenu, and Merthe Schipper under the name of Studio Tiny Hands. For this project, I am responsible for the design of the plants as well as partly the backgrounds, 2D animation. The project is set to be completed in June 2025.

De korte film ´At the Bottom´ is een animatie over de relatie tussen mens en natuur. Het verhaal volgt Billy en Alberto, twee overheidsmedewerkers die van een klif moeten afdalen waar ze hun giftige afval dumpen, maar de omgeving is geëvolueerd om zichzelf te beschermen.
Het verhaal en de setting zijn geïnspireerd op het dumpen van giftig afval door de Camorra maffia in Napels, Italië.
Ik werk samen met Bas Lippens, Floriske Meinderstma, Daud Thenu en Merthe Schipper onder de naam Studio Tiny Hands. Voor dit project ben ik zowel verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp van de planten als voor een deel van de achtergronden, 2D animatie. Het project wordt in juni 2025 afgerond.
